Alma House is an 83-room serviced apartment within New Bahru, the adaptive reuse of the former Nan Chiau High School into a creative lifestyle destination. Designed by FARM, the project draws inspiration from the idea of alma mater, reinterpreting familiar elements of the school environment—such as louvred windows, shared corridors, and communal spaces—into a contemporary hospitality experience that celebrates memory, sustainability, and community.
Shiya Creative Studio delivered a hybrid production for Alma House, comprising a cinematic brand narrative film alongside a refreshed suite of photography. The production documents the thoughtful relationship between the preserved architecture and FARM's contemporary interventions, capturing the interplay of light, materiality, and spatial rhythm throughout the property—from the linear timber louvres and carefully detailed guest rooms to the generous communal spaces that retain the character of the former school while embracing a new identity as a place for living, gathering, and creative exchange.
